MARBLE
Marble is a metamorphic carbonate rock formed by the metamorphism of calcite, dolomite, and other carbonates. It requires high temperatures and pressures to form. Marble can be of various colors (white, grey, pink, greenish, patterned) and grain sizes, with a homogeneous, mottled, or banded texture. It is highly resistant to water and a wide range of mechanical damage and is widely used for countertops, stairs, fireplaces, floor and wall coverings, window sills, and sculptures.
